Cat Napping in a Green Chair Limoges Box

A cat has claimed the green armchair for an afternoon nap, curled up in the best seat in the house. This sleepy scene is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made in Limoges, France.

The Best Seat in the House

Cats have a gift for finding the most comfortable chair and refusing to give it up. The green upholstered chair makes a cozy setting for this napping cat, and the painted colors give the whole piece a warm, lived-in look.

Who Gets the Chair

It makes a gentle present for a cat owner who has lost their favorite seat for good, a new retiree looking forward to quiet afternoons, or an interior designer with a soft spot for cats. It also suits a friend who just bought a new armchair.

Living Room Lineup

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a cat, armchair or miniature furniture grouping
• Pairs with cat on a pillow, antique trunk and grand piano pieces

Fired at Great Heat

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat, which is why the white body is so bright under the paint. Give this chair a spot on a reading table, a sunny windowsill or a shelf of miniature furniture.
