Dalmatian with Red Slippers Figurine Limoges Box

A spotted Dalmatian has fetched a pair of red slippers, as if announcing that it is time to put your feet up. Black spots on a white coat are painted one by one on this porcelain figurine box, made by hand in Limoges, France.

Spots and Slippers

Dalmatians are best known as firehouse dogs and carriage dogs, but this one has taken on a homier job. The bright red slippers stand out against the spotted coat, giving the piece a cheerful pop of color on any shelf.

For Dog People and Heroes

It makes a fond present for a Dalmatian owner, a firefighter or fire chief, a retiring volunteer from the local station, or anyone whose own dog greets them at the door each evening. It also suits a friend who has just moved into a cozy new home.

Set it on a side table beside a favorite armchair, on a bedroom shelf or near the front door where the slippers usually land. It also brightens a firehouse office or a den full of family photos.
